Lib Dems support local residents' fight to restore chalk stream meadow

2 May 2022

Liberal Democrats are supporting local residents in their campaign to restore a precious chalk stream meadow in rural Pirton, Hitchwood, Offa and Hoo, which is under threat from housing development by Hertfordshire County Council. HCC have already wasted £100k of taxpayers’ money over five years on their failed plans but are still pressing ahead.

Please send HCC a message to live up to their promises to protect the environment on County Council-owned land by signing the ePetition here from local environmental groups Wrights Farm Working Group and Wild About Pirton on HCC’s website. This link will also give you more detail about the issue.

Your support is critical - a minimum of 250 votes is needed to guarantee some engagement with HCC to protect the chalk stream meadow and 1,000 votes will ensure a meeting with the whole Council. Please note that you will be asked to register on HCC’s website in order to sign the ePetition. Thank you for your support, and please share with your friends.
