Cllr Robert Donald - Leader St Albans District Council

After capturing five seats in June's elections - two from Labour and three from the Conservatives - Lib Dems now have 29 out of the 58 District Council seats. Labour and Conservatives have 28 seats, with the other seat being held by an Independent. The Liberal democrats have decided to form the council's administration.

"During the campaign, residents told us they wanted the council to have a firmer lead from the top, so that problems like parking and road maintenance could be tackled" says Lib Dem Council Leader Robert Donald. "A recent official government report agreed with this" he added.
